Federal Carbon Tax to Appear on Upcoming SaskPower and SaskEnergy Bills

Starting April 1, the Federal Carbon Tax will be applied to all bills received by SaskPower and SaskEnergy customers. SaskPower and SaskEnergy apply for rate adjustments

Average $4.30/month increase for homeowners for 2016 SaskPower and SaskEnergy will be applying to the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel (SRRP) in two separate applications to adjust their rates. The simultaneous applications will allow customers the opportunity to budget for utility bills going forward. SaskPower is requesting a rate increase of five per cent effective July 1, 2016 and five per cent effective Jan 1, 2017. SaskEnergy increase approved for public safety and infrastructure investments

Today the Government of Saskatchewan approved an increase to SaskEnergy’s Delivery Service Rate of 3.6 per cent to begin November 1, 2017. On average, the increase to residential customers will be an additional $1.65 per month or about $20 annually. Cabinet Approves SaskEnergy Rate Changes for November 1; Second Bill Decrease for Natural Gas Customers in 2016

The Government of Saskatchewan today approved SaskEnergy's adjustments to both its Commodity and Delivery Service rates, as recommended by the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel. Starting November 1 st, 2016, residential customers will see an overall decrease of nearly two per cent per month or $15 annually to their heating bills. After a very successful Tune-Up Assistance Program (TAP) in 2018, SaskEnergy and its Network of plumbing and heating contractors are teaming up again in hopes of continuing to provide quality furnace maintenance to low-income homeowners across the province. In 2016-17, SaskEnergy recorded income before unrealized market value adjustments of $70 million, compared to $86 million for the 12-month period ending March 31, 2016. The corporation declared a dividend of $29 million to Crown Investments Corporation (CIC), based on 2016-17 income before unrealized market value adjustments. Safety remained a core focus in 2017-18 as the corporation dedicated $109 million toward increasing safety across its more than 85,000 kilometres of pipelines. Ground Movement

Watch for changing conditions Do you own a home or cabin that resides on or near a hillside, valley, river or lake? You may experience ground movement with changing environmental conditions such as excess moisture in the soil or eroding shorelines. Construction activities can also affect the natural landscape, which can cause ground conditions to change. If you notice signs of ground movement, contact us at 1-888-700-0427.
