Meter Handling for Contractors
Care and attention is important when shipping, receiving, transporting and storing natural gas meters. If handled incorrectly, physical or mechanical damage could result in a defective meter that is no longer accurate or reliable. Natural gas system outage in Melfort area
Early morning on Wednesday, January 10 th, 2018, SaskEnergy identified a significant pressure drop in its natural gas system near Melfort. As a result, approximately 4,500 customers in Melfort, St. Brieux, Kinistino and surrounding rural areas lost natural gas service to their homes and businesses. SaskEnergy technicians and operators immediately began working to address the issue as quickly as possible. The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel (the Panel) has recommended an overall decrease in energy bills for SaskEnergy customers. On average, residential customers would see their bills decrease by approximately $2 per month, or $28 annually. If approved by Cabinet the rate changes will take effect November 1, 2016. SaskEnergy’s rate application proposed a 14% DECREASE to the overall commodity rate, combined with an 8.6% INCREASE in the delivery rate.
