Share the Warmth Grant Program
Are you a charitable organization that's ready to make a difference? If, so, we invite you to apply for a SaskEnergy Share the WarmthTM grant. Together, let’s make a difference in our province and assist citizens with the tough challenges of Saskatchewan winters. Since the program began, more than 240 projects from across the province have received a $1,000 grant.
Guidelines for the 2021-2022 Program
- We are looking for projects with the greatest impact and innovation to keep our most vulnerable citizens warm for the winter.
- Applicants must provide care and services to vulnerable citizens in our communities.
- Initiatives that support mental health are eligible.
- Up to forty grants of $1,000 are available.
- Grants of $2,000 may be an option for organizations with large participation and where there is an urgent need.
- Previously funded applicants may apply. An increase in the overall goal/scale of the project compared to the previous application is required.
- Deadline to apply is October 31, 2021.
How to apply:

Develop a one-page project plan
Be creative! The plan should highlight how your organization plans to utilize your grant and the impact you anticipate the project will make. Be sure to specify the needs of your community and organization.

Complete an online application
Applications are accepted through our corporate sponsorship page under the 'contributions over $1,000' category. When completing the application, be sure to title your project as 'Share the Warmth Grant: [insert your project name]. Include your project date, your one-page plan, and any other supporting documents you have to help us understand your project.
To give your organization the best chance of receiving a grant, consider including the following information to help us better understand the community impact of your proposal:
- Assistance: How many people will you be able to assist with your project, and what will be the lasting impact of your efforts?
- Community Engagement: Will you partner with other organizations? Will you be including volunteers from outside your organization to assist in your project day?
- Awareness: Will there be any public awareness of your project? If so, tell us how you will make that happen.
- Leveraging Resources: Will you leverage other resources to assist with your project? If so, please tell us about your plan to obtain additional financial or in-kind resources.
- Activation Assistance: Please let us know if you would like us to be involved in your project and we will do our best to be there if our resources allow.
Here are a few of the projects to receive funding:

Community Cooking Program - Fort Qu'Appelle
High School students learned commercial cooking skills and prepared a free Christmas dinner for local residents in their community. This project allowed the students to learn new life skills and provide a little holiday warmth. -
Random Acts of Kindness - Saskatoon
More than 300 vulnerable adults and children were treated a random act of kindness through the delivery of hot coffee, delicious donuts and new warm mittens. This kind act demonstrated that even small acts of kindness can bring an abundance of warmth and happiness to others.

Holiday Hamper Program - Grenfell
This community was able to grow their Holiday Hamper Program from 8 to 44 with the help of the Share the Warmth Grant! This initiative helped those in need while also bringing the community together.

Winter Clothing Outfitting - North Battleford
Local school and residents were provided with appropriate Saskatchewan winter clothing to help keep them warm and safe. More than 285 jackets were handed out, including hundreds of critical winter accessories. This heart and soul warming initiative helped make sure no one was left out in the cold.
